Insane

I haven't seen anything the last few days other than some fieldfare and a first for the garden; a Skylark over the house yesterday morning.
But the beast from the east is causing havoc among all the birds. Read about it here:

While I'm being forced to continue to go to school and most others are enjoying the birds that are moving overhead, I'm starting to feel EXTREMELY jealous of nearly everything that has been seen. Of the few thousand or so Lapwing that have been seen, the number that I've seen is equal to the number of Hawfinches I saw on the 17th February. One was even seen on the Emirates Football Pitch this evening before Arsenal got smashed by Man City!

I get jealous a lot with nature stuff, so it's nothing new.

I just want to see everything because I'm greedy.

Of all things seen in the last few days I have never seen at least 5 of the species. Kittiwakes in Central London - really!

Hopefully something pops up nearby, and if I can I'll get down somewhere local to see what's been blown down.

  1. All I can say Arjun is that your time will come. I used to feel exactly the same as you when I was your age (back in the early to mid 1970s). I always wanted to be out birding and everybody else seemed to be able to do so, and were always seeing stuff. Patience will be rewarded!

  2. I agree with Steve you will have your day. I was always stuck at work on the days like yesterday. I would lock my phone in a drawer!!... I had a couple of nervous train journeys too.. Glossy Ibis at the Farm bringing one to mind! Now I can arrange my life around the birds! But don't go wishing your life away it goes fast enough as it is! Enjoy! ps: Man City were always going to win. I will feel ur pain at their hands too!

    1. Haha thanks - I'm a Man U supporter either way!
Your both right - I need to be more patient, and that's more a sense of wanting to be greedy I think, especially at my age.
      Thanks to you both!
